Tis the season to be jolly. Christmas is around the corner, and there are many things you can do to get into the holiday spirit. Christmas is a time to give and receive. A chance to create new memories. Here are a few Christmas ideas to make the most of this holiday.
Rent a Cottage/Cabin
Why not get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and rent a cottage or cabin? One with a fireplace, ideally, so you can snuggle up to the fire and enjoy some mulled wine. It’s a great chance to wind down and enjoy the company of your loved ones.
Christmas Markets
Where better to surround yourself with holiday cheer than going to a Christmas market? Everybody’s in good spirits, and it’s an excellent time for small businesses to sell their products. There’s delicious food all around. It’s the perfect time to stretch your legs as you walk around and soak up the Christmas spirit.
Glamping
Get in touch with nature and appreciate the simple side of life with glamping. Fancier than traditional camping, glamping allows you to sleep under the stars in more comfort. Many glamping pods have electricity, so you can stay warm whatever the weather.
Ice Skating
Whether you’re a frequent skater or you’ve only ever been a few times, ice skating is always a fun activity for friends and family. Once you get over the cold and find your stride, you can enjoy the thrill of gliding on the ice. Sure, you may fall down once or two, but if you keep getting back up, you’ll be surprised by how fast time flies by.
Carriage Ride
It’s not often you get to experience the joy of a horse-drawn carriage ride. This romantic stroll is perfect for date night. Feel as though you’re stepping into the past while taking in the views of the park. A blanket is often provided, but wrap-up warm. You can enjoy some Christmas music as you go!
Winter Wonderland | Santa’s Village
There’s something for everyone in Winter Wonderland. With several workshops to join, you could learn ice sculpting or wreath-making. For those who want a thrill, take a ride on a rollercoaster or an ice slide. Wonder Santa’s village and take a picture on Santa’s lap to encapsulate the day. End the day with a delicious cup of hot chocolate or beer with a German hotdog. There’s so much to see and do that it’s worth more than one trip.
Christmas Concert
Radio stations play non-stop Christmas music with hits like Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas. Children perform school plays on the nativity, and carollers raise money for charities. The Nutcracker Ballet and Christmas concerts are on, so see a show to take in the season’s magic.
Christmas Lights Festival
Christmas lights are how we truly know Christmas is here. The lights make everything look magical and radiant. You can catch a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and watch as the place brightens. It brings the community together and ignites the hope the holiday period brings.
